Birtsmorton Court wedding album 1 & 2

Stanbrook Abbey wedding album

The opening pages of Deborah and Kevan's wedding album shows the early morning part of Deb's bridal preparations. The bridal party had hired out Birtsmorton Court's Garden House in order to have their hair and makeup done. The Garden House is a standalone house within the grounds of Birtsmorton Court that features ensuite bedrooms, two living rooms, a kitchen and dining room and allows wedding guests and members of the bridal party to have a relaxing night's sleep the night before the wedding, as well as proving a great space for the morning of the wedding for people to get ready in.

The first two pictures on the left page show the father of the bride arriving at the Garden House, with the second photo showing the bride's reaction to seeing the length of her father's speech!

One of my favourite times of a bride's morning prep is the flowers being delivered. Many of my clients tell me that they don't truly feel like a bride until the wedding flowers have arrived, and at that point it all suddenly becomes real. I love the bride's reaction in these images, as she stands and admires her beautiful wedding flowers.

The right hand page shows the bride having her hair professional done, and another favourite photo from this time of the morning is the bride's mother arriving in the room where the girls were all getting ready. The expression on her face is simply wonderful.

For the backing images for these pages, I have used a reduced-opacity photo of the Garden House itself for the left hand page, and the right page backing is made using a photo of the bride's wedding flowers.

My early wedding album designs featured black page backgrounds, but I have recently made the decision to use background photos of various opacity in order to set the tone for the whole spread. Using background images instead of plain black really lifts the images and the added colour makes the whole album a lot brighter.
