Birtsmorton Court wedding reception

These two pages show the entrance of the bride and groom, the wedding cake and the beginning of the wedding speeches.

Deborah and Kevan had a fantastic naked wedding cake, which was a fitting centrepiece for the wedding reception. The cake was made from 4 layers of tiered sponge with a cream filling, and was ornately decorated with fresh fruit and flowers that matched the bride's bouquet. Breaking from tradition of having two iced figures showing the bride and groom, Kevan and Deborah instead had two dog/bear figures which had a knitted appearance.

The father of the bride started the speeches in time honoured tradition, and his daughter's reactions to his words made for some lovely photos. I like the eclectic layout of these two pages - photos of the speeches can get very similar to one another so I chose to mix up the design a little in order to get around this.

If you look closely at the photos on the right page, you can see that Deborah and Kevan decorated the top table with wedding flowers and handcuffs which might seem like an odd option, until you discover that Kevan is a police officer, as is his best man, and Deb also works for the local force!
