Bredenbury Court Weddings

Bredenbury Court in Herefordshire is a stunning Midlands barn wedding venue. From my first meeting with the bride and groom, Rosalind, the bride had mentioned that she really liked the images of mine which appeared to have the bride and room in the middle of the countryside, in a field like setting.

Bredenbury Court is a huge place, with acres and acres of land that can be used for wedding photos. When I was driving out of the venue after my initial meeting with the couple there, I made sure to take a really good look around for locations that we could use for wedding photography. To the side of the drive itself, was a large field which was largely overgrown. On the face of it, it didn't look like much - but to me it was the perfect place. The tall flowers (or weeds as I'm sure my luck would have it) were ideally located that I could place them into the frame. Having flowers close to the lens basically turns them into large colourful blobs, adding a dramatic amount of colour to the image. In order to get just the look I was looking for, I knelt down and shot with a long telephoto lens. The bride and groom were great to work with; I simply put them in the position in which I wanted to shoot them, and let them be themselves, allowing their true character and relationship with each other to come out on film.
