Bredenbury Court Barn Best Wedding Photo

Photos in the rain are not a thing that I imagine a great deal of brides and grooms, in planning their wedding, hope for. After all, wedding dresses cost thousands of pounds and who really wants to spend the rest of the wedding evening whilst being dripping wet?

Still, the bride and groom here had seen photos of mine in the rain before, and were quite open to the idea of having a photo outside is there was to be enough rain to make it worth while. We were quite far into the wedding reception when the heavens suddenly opened, and now was to be the time for this amazing photo.

I asked the bride and groom to follow me out into the storm and the darkness. On the way out of the door I picked up an umbrella that belonged to the wedding venue. The groom and myself tried our best to keep the bride dry, but as soon as we were in position and she'd seen the first test image, she threw the umbrella to the side and had some photos of just her and her husband in the rain. In order to take this amazing wedding photo, I placed a remote controlled flash on a light-stand behind the bride and groom by about 10 metres. I used a high flash power in order that the light would illuminate the most amount of rain possible. I placed the bride and groom directly between the two most central posts on the lawn, in order that their image was symmetrical.
