Stanbrook Abbey Winter Weddings

The cloisters of Stanbrook Abbey in Worcestershire make for wonderful wedding photos whether it's in the middle of the day or late at night. I love the perspective that this long and perfectly straight corridor gives, as it adds a real sense of perspective to the photos.

Wedding photos taken here have a completely different feel depending on the time of the day that they images are taken. In the middle of the day, direct sunlight floods in from the right of the frame, and casts long shadows across the width of the corridor. At night however, the venue's interior lighting gives the images a really soft and warm feel as you can see here in this photo from Nicola and Alex's Christmas wedding.

Weddings at Stanbrook Abbey

After we took some photos in the cloisters, we went deeper into Stanbrook Abbey and towards St Anne's Hall at the far end of the venue. None of the venue's internal lights were on when we got there, and even after 5 years of working at the venue, I've still not managed to locate the light switch! We lit the candles you can see at either side of the image, and the main light is provided by a radio controlled flash gun that I had pointing back towards the couple and myself.
