Chris and his groomsmen decided to get ready at Pendrell Hall on the morning of his wedding to Charlene. Chris stayed in The Cottage whilst Charlene and her bridesmaids stayed in The Lodge. These two small cottages at Pendrell Hall provide the perfect location for preparation shots on the morning of your wedding. Both feature bedrooms, a kitchen and a living area. Staying away from home and right inside your venue relives a lot of the stress of travel on your wedding day.
I spent the majority of the morning with the bride, as I tend to do at most weddings, but owing to his close proximity I was able to spend a good amount of time with Chris that morning too.
It's easy to overlook the groom in the morning of the wedding, especially with everything that usually happens with the bridal party - on average that's 5 hours of getting ready!
I took a series of portraits of Chris and his groomsmen before the wedding, both inside and outside Pendrell Hall, but it's the one at the top of the image that I like the best. A formal photo that retains a lot of casual aspects. I always find it better to allow the groom and groomsmen to stand however they feel most comfortable, instead of forcing an unnatural pose upon them.
