The Nash Kempsey Weddings

Ashley and Lydia got married at Kempsey Church and had their wedding reception at The Nash, Kempsey, a privately owned Manor House in the Worcestershire countryside.

The wedding venue features many different areas of grounds and gardens that are great for wedding photography, from landscaped gardens to manicured lawns and a terraced area too.

Ashley and his groomsmen had all chosen daffodils as their buttonhole wedding flowers, and the venue itself had been decorated wit the flower too. I was rather excited when I discovered this patch of the wild daffodils in one of the gardens at the Nash.

As it was March, the light was fading fast and the daffodils were under a large tree. To make matters worse, it was getting more cloudy by the minute and we were soon going to lose usable light. In order to do this image justice, I used an off-camera flash to illuminate both the daffodils and the newlyweds. The heads of the daffodils turned out to be quite reflective, meaning they stand out really well against the deep green of the daffodil leaves and grass. Having the light off to one side of the camera produces a wonderful flattering light, that you can't get with having the flash on top of the camera.

I purposely composed the image this way so the tree on the far right of the image works to frame the couple the in the photo.
